A Message from the Executive Director
As we wrap up the 2021-2022 school year and plan for the 2022-2023 school year, I feel compelled to reflect on the two driving forces behind our work for students, families and stakeholders: our mission and vision for impact.
Our mission statement asserts our
conviction that every child deserves
the chance to succeed educationally.
To accomplish this, we provide children with substantial learning disabilities an individualized learning program that enables them to master lifelong learning skills, achieve academic success and enhance their self-confidence.
Our vision for impact acknowledges that children with learning disabilities can access educational programming that addresses their learning needs, helps them overcome barriers, and contributes to them becoming successful, confident students.
Our Strategic Plan, adopted by the Board of Directors last June, serves as our blueprint for our work in support of our mission statement and vision for impact. Our strategic plan outlines five goals to guide our work:
Our student census is looking great and we are pleased to report that we will be at capacity for the 2022-23 school year. We have hired a full time school psychologist, a full time speech therapist and a full time occupational therapist. We now have three reading specialists as well as a math specialist. Our contracted Art teacher will be at
BBA two days a week next year and we are looking for a part-time music teacher. We have also hired
an assistant education director
to support Christina, our education director.
We are in the process of

enhancing and
revising our instructional content and curriculum for the 2022-23 school year. We are currently evaluating and selecting on-line content and text books for social studies and science.
Finally, we are excited to report that we are using funds raised from our inaugural BBA Golf Tournament and our annual Birdies for Charity fundraiser to create a library media center.
This will be a comfortable space for students to research, read and check out books. We will also be looking to incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities within the media center.
Thank you for your warm welcome to me in my first year at BBA. I can sincerely say that we have the best staff and students, caring families
and dedicated Board members.
